JAGADEESH TAMMINENI

Jagadeesh Tammineni is an accomplished printmaker hailing from Kottavalasa, a small village in the Srikakulam district. Through his art, he delves into the complexities of change and modernity that have subtly transformed his village and the world at large. The theme of constructing notions, both of the past and the present, has been a prominent element in his printmaking journey. Jagadeesh's work often features iconic figures like Mahatma Gandhi, emphasizing the enduring relevance of Gandhiji's ideas of non-violence and nation-building in the face of contemporary challenges. He believes that Gandhiji's principles remain essential in the 21st century, particularly in a world marked by sectarian violence. Through his art, Jagadeesh explores the intricate path of building a democratic and liberal nation, drawing inspiration from the wisdom of Gandhi.

Jagadeesh Tammineni's art has been widely exhibited, including prestigious events such as the Bharat Bhavan International Biennale of Print Art in Bhopal, India Habitat Center exhibitions in New Delhi, and the Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa. With a decade of experience in printmaking, Jagadeesh continues to experiment with various printmaking techniques, offering a fresh perspective on timeless themes. He holds a Master's Degree from M.S. University in Baroda, further solidifying his commitment to the world of art and printmaking.
