MIMI RADHAKRISHNAN
Born in Kolkata on the 29th of August 1955, Mimi Radhakrishnan moved to Santiniketan after spending her early years in Kolkata, to study art. She received her training in printmaking from Sri Somnath Hore. After completing her BFA in 1979 in Shantiniketan, she shifted to Baroda to pursue Masters in M. S. University, Baroda.
Since then, Radhakrishnan has participated in many group shows as well as solo shows. An artist per excellence, she has received many awards from State Lalit Kala Academy, Gujarat and Chandigarh, Chitra Kala Parishad, Bangalore. Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India awarded her with Senior Fellowship. A keen writer, her first short story was published in Desh magazine in 1999. ‘Nishir Daak’, a short story collection published in 2004 and ‘Shastha Indriyo’ – horror story collection, published in 2012 are some of her noted works.
A humanist, liberal, self-professed environmentalist and an ardent animal lover, she has her own studio in Delhi, where she paints. She has lived in Delhi with her husband, son and pet cats for over thirty years.
