MANISHA GAWADE

Manisha Gawade has spent 14 years in Dubai and absorbed the cosmopolitan flavors of West Asian cultures. She has been an extensive traveller who has been trained in various forms of paintings in several parts of the world. Her work is a fusion of the Indian as well as Western and Arabic culturescape. Having held several solo exhibitions, she has been a part of nearly 110 group exhibitions in various parts of the world, including highly acclaimed shows on wearable art, like Ehsaas held at New Delhi, Painting a Thread held at Dubai. Well known for having displayed her works at various Embassies and Art Fairs in Dubai, Hungary, Amsterdam, Bahrain and Muscat to depict the beautiful interplay of the Indian and Arabic cultures.

Extensively popular with the press, her works have always attracted their attention the world over.She has been the first ever Indian Artist to have received the patronage of His Highness Shiekh Mohammed Bin Rashid ALMAKTOUM, the ruler and Prime Minister of Dubai and Dubai Art and Culture Authority, post her exhibition in Dubai in 2009. Some of her fascinating masterpieces form a part of The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Argentina. Her genre forms a part of some intrinsic art collections in India, France, UK, U.S, UAE, Qatar, Oman and Argentina. The exclusivity just doesn’t end here, royal family of Oman holds a large segment of her works as a part of their prized palace collection.

‘Mira’ – the 8 feet long Falcon sculpture, one of her many intriguing works was sold in Dubai by The Christies’ for 100,000 Dirhams, making her the only other INDIAN artist apart from M.F. Husain to be a part of this inspiring event.
