Maitreyi Desai obtained her BA and MA from Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda, India between 2011-2017. Her works express her identity and desire to understand what it means to be rooted. She draws tree rings as a metaphor to comprehend nature, what it means to be grounded, and have a home and family. Each ring adds to the essence of what it means to make a home, layer by layer.
