Manoj Kumar Tekam
(1986)

Manoj Kumar Tekam likes to detail all his paintings in the Gond tradition. The Gonds are a folk indigenous to the Gondwana region. They express themselves through song, dance, and festivals. Their art form draws from the wildlife and forests surrounding them, and replicates the vibrant hues and rich textures seen in their community.

Manoj Kumar Tekam has worked under the watchful eye of Bajju Shyam, a renowned Gond artist. After working with him for a few years, Tekam settled back into rural life, and visits cities only when he needs drawing material. He enjoys and prefers the tranquillity of his village where he can work undisturbed.
